Both commercial and residential property values in Bridgeport rose, but taxes shouldn't rise too much, Mayor Bill Finch says.
The city hired Vision Appraisal Technology to re-assess the city's property, as it is required by law every five years.
Vision Appraisal officials say the land values are showing an increase since they haven't fallen lower than they were during the last re-evaluation.
The mayor says while some residents may worry about increasing taxes, the report shows positive results considering the sour economy.
"People shouldn't get sticker shock, there is really good news in this," Finch says.
Vision Appraisal Technology officials say all Bridgeport property assessments are available on their Web site.
