(09/27/06) BRIDGEPORT ? The price was right, but the supply was short at a Bridgeport gas station offering fuel for $2.39 a gallon.
The Citgo?s price resulted in long lines and happy drivers along State Street. However, the rock-bottom bargain may have been too much of a good thing. The station ran out of gas amid the high demand.
A fuel truck replenished the supply Wednesday afternoon. As far as the plummeting gas prices in southwestern Connecticut and across the U.S., the Citgo manager believes the drop is politically motivated with elections on the horizon.
