Recipes:
Minty Lime NOjito
EQUIPMENT:
Pitcher (plus wooden spoon)
INGREDIENTS:
¾ cup fresh lime juice (from 6 limes)
¾ cup simple syrup
½ cup packed fresh mint leaves
2 (2-inch) strips lime zest
4 cups ice cubes
2 cups Hal’s Lime Seltzer
Lime slices and mint sprigs, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine lime juice, simple syrup, mint leaves and lime zest in a pitcher; using the handle of a long wooden spoon, lightly crush the mint and zest. Add ice cubes and divide mixture among 4 glasses, top with SELTZER, stir to mix well. Garnish with lime slices and mint sprigs, if desired.
Spicy Watermelon HALapeño Mocktail
EQUIPMENT:
Blender
4 short glasses
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups diced watermelon
1/2 jalapeño diced (seeds removed)
½ tsp agave
Hal’s Watermelon Seltzer
Ice
Salt or Tajin
Mint (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Take the watermelon, jalapeno, agave, plus a pinch of salt and add to a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Place ice in 4 small glasses. Divide watermelon mixture among the four glasses. Top with SELTZER. Stir with a spoon or straw to combine.
- Garnish with extra watermelon and mint, if desired.
- Line the glass rims with Tajin if desired for some extra spice!
Classic Shirley Temple (AKA When Hal Met Shirley)
EQUIPMENT:
4 tall glasses
INGREDIENTS:
- Ice
- 2 Tbsp grenadine
- ½ cup Hal’s Ginger Ale
- 2 – 4 oz Hal’s Lime Seltzer (optional)
GARNISHES:
Maraschino Cherries (with stems)
Lime slices
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Take an 8-10 oz. Glass and fill it with ice, nearly to the top.
- Start with 2 Tbsp grenadine to the glass with ice.
- Next, add about ½ cup of Ginger Ale over the grenadine and ice. (If desired, you can use half Seltzer and half Ginger Ale to cut the sweetness!)
- Finish your Shirley Temple with a maraschino cherry and a slice of Lime (I like to give my citrus wedge a light squeeze before adding it to the glass. That little kiss of citrus helps offset the sweetness of the drink!
- Stir with a straw or drink stirrer and sip away!
