Rising Starr Horse Rescue is cleaning up some damage on their property from Wednesday's storm.
Around 6 p.m., strong winds blew through the area, leading to several downed trees. Some of the fences on the property were also damaged.
"Before the storm came the skies were still blue, and then it moved in very very quickly. The winds started picking up and then the sky was turning black," said Elizabeth Herman, program director of Rising Starr Horse Rescue.
Volunteers and staff were at the horse rescue on Thursday clearing some of the trees off the road, but they'll need additional help to repair some of the fences.
We're really grateful that we were all okay, and our horses are all OK," Herman said.
The organization is planning to have a spring cleanup day at the farm. Herman said anyone can come and volunteer their time. If you don't have time to volunteer, donations are also welcome.
