A blasting project began Tuesday to help pave the way for a new on-ramp to the Wilbur Cross Parkway from Route 34.
Residents in Orange, Woodbridge and Milford living near the parkway have been advised to expect about four blasts per day between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Officials say each blast will be preceded by three long warnings from an air horn.
The project is set to wrap up Thursday.
