Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy introduced legislation in Washington Wednesday that they say will close a dangerous loophole in federal gun laws.
The No Check, No Sale bill would close a loophole that allows guns to be sold without a background check if the check isn't completed within 72 hours.
Blumenthal and Murphy say the so-called "default to proceed" provision allowed 15,000 guns to be sold to people barred from having them over the past five years.
