Coast Guard officials in Bridgeport say a boat fire early Sunday morning has caused some environmental concerns after gallons of gas contaminated the harbor.
Firefighters say the 26-foot Hydra Sports boat caught fire behind Dolphin's Cove Marina at around 3 a.m.
Officials say the flames spread throughout the dock, but no other boats were damaged due to the quick work of responders.
Officials say nearly 200 gallons of gas were on board the boat.
Officials say a fine film of gasoline remains on the water in the immediate area where the fire took place.
Coast Guard officials say they do not want to boom the fuel because that would concentrate it and create a new fire hazard. They say sunshine will burn a lot of it off.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
