Body found in Norwalk Harbor identified as 69-year-old resident

The man found in Norwalk Harbor near the Water Street docks on Wednesday morning has been identified as 69‑year‑old Michael Tyler, a Norwalk resident who lived on his boat in the area of 50 Water Street, according to police.

Police say they recovered the body after responding to a 911 call near the boating docks behind 50 Water Street. The incident remains under investigation.

Police have not said how long the man may have been in the water or whether there were outward signs of trauma. They said there are no indications of a threat to the community.

Nearby signs show the area is monitored by video cameras, and detectives are expected to review those recordings. Police were on scene until about 12:30 p.m.
