The Putnam County Sheriff's Office confirmed Sunday that a body was found in the Croton Falls Reservoir.
There was a large police presence at the end of Daisy Lane, where the road meets Lower Mine Road near the reservoir just after 6 p.m.
Authorities told News 12 just before 6 p.m. that the body was recovered from the reservoir.
Police have identified the man as 66-year Aurelio Zhunio-Orbez, of Connecticut.
His death has been ruled as a homicide by the Putnam County coroner.
He was reported missing by his family, in the city of Danbury, back on Dec. 1.
Police say a black Toyota Sienna was seen and belonged to the victim. It was allegedly stolen after Zhunio-Orbez was killed.
