Authorities are investigating the circumstances of a drowning at a pool party that took the life of a young Stamford boy.
Stamford police officials say the 5-year-old was found fully clothed and unresponsive Thursday at 87 Ridgecrest Road. The drowning death is the first this year in Stamford.
?[We] got a call around 5:30 [in the] afternoon of a child unresponsive in a swimming pool, 5-year-old boy,? says Lt. Sean Cooney of the Stamford Police Department.
Police suspect the drowning may have been a tragic accident and don?t think there was foul play involved. The results of the autopsy, which was conducted Friday, are scheduled to be released Monday.
?It's just a terrible tragedy to happen to all involved - to the parents, the homeowners, anyone connected with it because it is an accident,? says one neighbor.
