Today one child is in serious condition after a home exploded in northern Connecticut, sending debris flying through the air and leaving seven people hurt.
Police, firefighters and EMS were called to the home in Vernon shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday.
Officials say three of the victims were outside the home when they arrived, but rescuers had to dig through the debris to free four others.
Police say four of the victims are children and a 7-year-old boy appears to have suffered the worst injuries.
The cause of the blast is still under investigation.
