A boy was seriously injured in Shelton after being hit by a car during a street takeover.

Police say it happened early Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Shelton Square Shopping Center.

Officers say several cars were seen driving away when they arrived.

Police released a photo from the scene and are asking anyone with information to contact them.

There's no word yet on the boy's condition.
