Police say a boy was shot in the leg outside the Brien McMahon High School gym after a basketball game Monday night.
The 19-year-old boy, who was shot in the leg at about 8:30 p.m., is hospitalized and expected to recover. Investigators found a shell casing at the scene. Police say the victim, who lives in Hartford, is not cooperating with the investigation.
?We're very comfortable that we don't feel this is going to carry over into the future. We feel this was an isolated incident,? says Chief Harry Rilling, of the Norwalk Police Department. ?Hopefully we'll be able to get to the bottom of it and arrest the person or persons responsible.?
Investigators say the victim was at the game against Greenwich High with his cousin. According to police, the victim and his cousin are not associated with either high school. Officers are still determining what they were doing at the school and how the shooting happened.
