A Bridgeport business owner says a car thief made away with a lot more than his pickup truck on Sunday afternoon.
Troy Chappell, the co-owner of a small business called Love and Care Landscaping & One Call Does It All roadside assistance, says a person who stole his Dodge Ram also took his livelihood.
"That's how I make my money. All of my tools are back there, all of them," said Chappell.
Chappell said it happened at Olive Street and Park Avenue.
He says the person took his lawnmower and power tools including a four-ton jack.
Chappell said the theft left him temporarily out of business.
"It's just sad, I worked hard to build this up, to buy these tools, for someone to just pull off and take everything? Like everything," said Chappell.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created to help the owners get back on their feet.
Bridgeport police are asking anyone with information to report it to 203 356-TIPS.
