Investigators say gunfire broke out around 10 p.m. Friday night on Bridgeport's North End, sending a woman to the hospital.
Police say there were two dark cars parked in front of a house at 300 Valley Ave. where the shooting took place.
The victim drove to St. Vincent's Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her lower leg. Police Chief AJ Perez says the "victim was uncooperative with police."
He says investigating the case without her assistance clearly makes it harder to solve, and is asking for the public's help.
Perez says investigators did gather evidence that may contain finger prints, which could be on file in a federal database.
"We were able to recover eight shell casings and we are currently investigating through ATF," the chief says.
It's not yet clear what set off the violence.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact police.
