A Bridgeport church gave some students the chance to look at colleges outside Connecticut.
The Summerfield United Methodist Church's Youth with a Purpose Program left Thursday morning for tours of Georgetown, George Washington and Morgan State universities.
"This is going to be very exciting and eye-opening experience for many of our students, and also we are taking some of their parents along with us, as well, because we believe it takes a village to raise our kids, and this is so exciting for us at Summerfield and our Youth with a Purpose Program," said Rev. Dr. Herron P. Gaston.
Organizers said the students will also learn about financial literacy and managing credit during their trip.
