A Bridgeport church took the first steps toward becoming the only church in the city to be completely solar powered.

Shiloh Baptist Church broke ground on construction today.

The church plans to eventually use solar panels as its sole means of power.

The pastor says they also celebrated another milestone today, announcing the partnership between a faith-based organization and green energy providers to allow residents access to low-cost solar power for their homes.
