Bridgeport city officials and Tradebe representatives met to discuss the investigation into the explosion on Barnum Avenue that happened on Dec. 31.

City officials say the Environmental Protection Agency found no ongoing safety threat to residents or workers.

According to investigators, the explosion and fire were caused by a low-grade oxidizer.

The explosion triggered an evacuation of a two-block area and sent three people to the hospital.

A Tradebe spokesperson says the company can't comment on the explosion or the investigation but wants to build ties with city and community leaders.
