The city of Bridgeport is considering a youth curfew following several shootings, including one that killed a 14-year-old boy.
The curfew would start at 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday for children under the age of 16. The curfew would be midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The idea was proposed by Councilman Warren Blunt (D). Chief of Police Joseph Gaudett Jr. and Mayor Bill Finch both have said this is something to consider.
Officials say that the bill has been approved by the Ordinance Committee and awaits a vote by the City Council.
