Officials in Bridgeport say they are preparing for bad weather as a snowstorm approaches.

Mayor Joe Ganim met with top city officials to map out a plan, and said he will be declaring a snow emergency overnight.

"If you have to go out in the morning, please proceed with caution, check weather reports and road conditions and be safe no matter what you do," said Mayor Ganim.

"Residents need to park on the odd side of the street and no residents should be parking on our snow emergency streets. Those are our main arteries that lead in and around the hospitals," said Scott Appleby, Bridgeport’s Emergency Management director.
