Bridgeport firefighters and medics say they helped a woman deliver her child last week.
The fire department responded to Tyisha Rodriguez's home after she went into labor on Friday.
They say the situation took a turn toward critical when they saw the umbilical cord wrapped around baby Jakhi Moore's neck, but first responders were able to save him.
The crew visited the baby and his mother Monday for the first time since the delivery.
Rodriguez says she and her newborn, who came out at 8 pounds, 13 ounces, are doing well. She says her 3-year-old daughter is excited to be a big sister.
