A Bridgeport man convicted of murdering three people in 2006 was sentenced to death Wednesday.
The victims' families let out a gasp as the court clerk read the jury's decision that death is the appropriate punishment for Richard Rosczkowski.
Rosczkowski was convicted in May of killing Thomas Gaudett, Holly Flannery and her 9-year-old daughter. According to witness testimony, Flannery broke up with Rosczkowski shortly before the killings, but Rosczkowski accused her of having an affair with Gaudett.
The sentencing hearings started in early June. Prosecutors say although it took a long time, they are pleased with the outcome.
