A Bridgeport man
is in search of the family who left behind a box of memories from 100 years ago
in the attic of his home in the Hollow section of the city.
When 33-year-old
Angel Colon was going through his attic in preparation for a move with his
family to a new home, he came across a box full of
photos from the 1920's
The pictures
ranged from portraits to family snapshots, and even vacation photos from the nation's capital.
Colon figures the photos were probably left in
the house Bridgeport by a previous owner.
He came up with the idea to reach out to the
public on Valentine's Day in an effort to reunite the photos with the family
they came from.
"My family and I believe in and cherish
love, so on a day like today we honor love by stepping back into time,"
Colon says. "With the media, the news, we
could be able to find who they belong to and close the gap, close the gap
between the past and the present."
He says the photos show somebody in the family
was associated with the Yale School of Medicine, and the name
"Caramela" shows up in a wedding invitation mixed in with the
pictures.
Colon says by sharing all of these clues, he hopes to track down the family whose photos
these belong to.
