Bridgeport man turns painful past into pathway for healing others

Izzy Sanchez, who says he went to prison for selling drugs in the 1990s, is now leading a faith-based recovery program called The Chosen Few Street Ministry.

A man who went to prison after selling drugs on the streets of Bridgeport is back on those streets, but with a completely different mission.

Izzy Sanchez, who says he went to prison for selling drugs in the 1990s, is now leading a faith-based recovery program called The Chosen Few Street Ministry.

Sanchez held a celebration at Friendship Park on the East Side of Bridgeport Saturday. He invited anybody who is struggling with addiction to try his program at no charge.

He asks people to call his cell phone at 203-360-3635.
