Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim has eliminated a city department that was one of the top priorities of former Mayor Bill Finch.
Ganim disbanded the city's anti-blight office.
It became known for highly publicized demolitions of rundown properties that drew complaints from neighbors.
State representative and long-time Finch supporter Chris Rosario led the department.
The mayor's office says the move is another step toward reorganizing the city's government.
