Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim spoke with News 12 about how the city is working to keep residents safe amid the nor’easter.
The mayor says there are plenty of snowplows working to keep the streets clear. He says the priorities are main streets and emergency routes.
Ganim urges residents to stay off the road and at home, especially those without cars that can handle driving in the snow.
The mayor asks residents who may know someone who is elderly or may need help to contact them and make sure they are safe during the frigid storm.
There is a warming shelter available at the YMCA building at State and Park avenues for those in need.
