Residents in Bridgeport say they're in shock after what they describe as a gruesome murder inside their apartment building.

Police say they responded to a call at around 11:30 p.m. yesterday at the Green Homes housing complex. They say 37-year-old Taurus Williams was shot multiple times in apartment 336.

Taurus was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Last night's homicide was the city's 22nd of the year. Bridgeport hosted a gun buyback program today in hopes of getting weapons off the streets.
