Police say the suspect fled traveling north on Route 8 into Ansonia where the car came to a stop on Division Street where the shots were fired.

Bridgeport police say one person is dead following an officer-involved shooting Sunday evening.

Police say officers were conducting a drug investigation on Oak Street when they tried to pull over a vehicle.

They say the suspect fled traveling north on Route 8 into Ansonia where the car came to a stop on Division Street where the shots were fired.

No word yet on any names.

An investigation into the shooting is being conducted by Connecticut State Police and the Office of the Inspector General.
