One month after a Park Avenue shooting left three injured, five men have been arrested, with one of the suspects still on the loose.

Police say the incident began with an altercation at the Gulf Station that escalated and moved to the area in front of a nearby deli.

Three people were shot just before 11 p.m. on Aug. 22, including two innocent bystanders and one of the suspects.

The bystanders have since recovered. Police said Allen Lusmat, one of the suspects, has serious injuries.

Police announced the arrests of Lusmat and four other men from Bridgeport and Norwalk on assault and gun charges on Wednesday.

"Individuals who are out on pretrial release, who continue to commit crimes, and as with Mr. Bush here, who we're currently looking for," Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter said. "He's out on bond for a murder, and he's involved in numerous acts of shootings in the city of Bridgeport."

Authorities say a sixth suspect, 28-year-old Rhameir Bush, of Ansonia, fled from state police when they tried to arrest him in Bridgeport Tuesday night.

They say Bush struck a police car before taking off and is considered armed and dangerous.

Mayor Joe Ganim and police led calls for justice from the courts for what they called a small number of repeat offenders responsible for the violence in this area of Bridgeport.
