Bridgeport police say an incident is under investigation after they received a report that a woman was kidnapped and taken from Bridgeport to Wallingford Monday morning.
Police say they received a report of an 18-year-old woman who was taken from her car on Federal Street by multiple men. A 31-year-old man was also apparently in the vehicle at the time.
The woman was driven to an unknown location in Wallingford, and was abandoned there, authorities say. She then called 911 and was picked up by investigators.
Police say the woman was not hurt during the alleged incident, but added that she wasn't cooperating in the investigation.
Bridgeport police chief AJ Perez says the situation is "confusing" as they try to piece details together as to whether the alleged incident was targeted.
Perez says "there was a report that a man had been shot in the arm" in addition to the alleged kidnapping, but that has not yet been confirmed.
A dog was also shot near the location of the alleged kidnapping, but police say it is unclear whether both incidents are connected.
Police say they haven't arrested any suspects, but have determined possible leads.
