The Bridgeport Public Schools dismissed students early Thursday due to water supply issues.
The district said it was notified this morning that Aquarian may not be able to supply nonpotable water to campuses starting this afternoon.
"In our commitment to keep all students and staff safe, we will follow our one-session schedule and implement an early dismissal for all campuses," said a statement on the district's website.
All after-school activities and events are canceled. The facilities will not be usable due to lack of water.
All buses will run on the one-session schedule.
Aquarion says that it is doing a valve replacement in Fairfield at a water treatment plant, and sent a message saying during the replacement there may be temporarily water discoloration. They say there is an extremely low chance of discoloration, but they put out a notice Wednesday proactively so that customers can prepare for the possibility.
