The head of the Bridgeport Housing Authority, George Lee Byers, says his agency has no plans to push residents to other cities around the country even though residents can relocate if they want to.
Byers' message comes after the housing agency announced earlier this week that the Marina Village Housing Complex is being shut down.
Some residents of the Section 8 housing project have reportedly said they've been offered homes in other cities, including Boston and Atlanta.
But Byers says residents have always had the option of relocating with federal relocation housing vouchers and the closure of Bridgeport housing projects does not reflect some special push by the Housing Authority to get people to leave their home city.
