A Bridgeport restaurant that was forced to close nearly a year ago because of fire will be reopening in Naugatuck.

Don Raphael's was located on Oak Street and was destroyed by a fire in September.

It was known for their menu which featured Brazilian and Portuguese cuisine.

Owner Marcia Neres says the restaurant, now located on Neumann Street, will hold a grand opening celebration Friday.

Mayor Pete Hess says relocation has brought dozens of jobs to town.

"Don Raphael's had a tragedy in Bridgeport, a fire, and it wiped them out. But they came back, they're tough, they have heart, they have talent, they needed a home and thank God they found a home in Naugatuck!," he said.
