A Bridgeport restaurant was shut down for not complying with Gov. Ned Lamont's COVID-19 executive orders after a video showed a giant party with unmasked customers inside.
Gov. Lamont posted the video on Twitter Tuesday that was recorded inside Ten 20 Restaurant and Lounge on Barnum Avenue in Bridgeport.
He tweeted the video, which was taken at 10:20 p.m. this past weekend, where it shows no social distancing or masks.
Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim replied to Lamont's tweet, saying the establishment was closed until further notice. It was the restaurant's third violation.
The owners will have to appeal the shutdown to reopen the club.
Health officials say establishments operating as restaurants have been hard to stop and preventing of gatherings has been taxing.
Lamont says this isn't fair to restaurants looking out for their customers.
Officials say that health departments are more geared toward solving problems, not dispensing punishments.
News 12 reached out to the management of the club for a response.
The tweet comes on the heels of a Fairfield pub being shut down Friday over COVID-19 concerns.
