Connecticut is home to one of the happiest places in the United States, according to a newly released list.

National Geographic worked with Gallup poll scientists to come up with a list of the happiest cities in the country.

At number eight are Bridgeport, Stamford and Norwalk.

The study established 15 metrics, from eating healthy and learning something new every day to civic engagement, financial security, vacation time, and even dental checkups.

Boulder, Colorado was number one on the list.

Cities such as Ann Arbor, Austin, and San Diego were also featured.
