Bridgeport teen recognized in USA Lacrosse Magazine for hard work in classroom, community

A Bridgeport teen is receiving some national media attention for his hard work in the classroom and in the community.

A Bridgeport teen is receiving some national media attention for his hard work in the classroom and in the community.
Dalond Bidonne, 19, is being hailed as a role model for kids across the country, according to an article in the latest edition of USA Lacrosse Magazine.
The teen thanked Don Wilson, the founder of Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse, for being his most "valuable" mentor.
The sophomore at Renssler Polytechnic Institute says he's humbled by the all the attention he's getting for his strong academics and community service.
"It's a great opportunity for me to showcase myself and what I've been doing…also to show where I’ve come from.” Bidonne says. “My family, my friends, such as Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse, Coach Don, everything that's brought me to where I am, so it's a nice achievement that I've gotten, a lot of recognition, and I appreciate it.”
Coach Don Wilson adds, “He has been recognized nationally for his accomplishments on and off the field. It's a tremendous opportunity here for the youths in Bridgeport, and we have such amazing programs for them to take advantage of."
Bidonne is pursuing a career in computer science. He's set to graduate from Rensselaer in 2024.
