A Bronx music teacher was honored Sunday for her nearly five decades of service.
Lorraine Nanko is a teacher at Cardinal Hayes High School. She is retiring after 46 years.
A Parkchester native, Panko studied at the Manhattan School of Music and began her career at Cardinal Hayes in 1969.
She oversaw 35 musical productions and ran both the choir and the music department.
She was honored Sunday with musical performances and a letter from Borough President Ruben Diaz.
