A Bronx mother sat down with News 12 to describe being tied up and robbed in her East 141st Street apartment while her twin toddlers were terrified in the other room.
The woman says she was making breakfast for her twin 3-year-olds when there was a knock at the door. Before she knew it, she says she was tied up on the kitchen floor with a gun pointed at her as her kids screamed for help.
Police say they are searching for two men in connection with the May 5 incident. The victim says she wasn't able to get a good look at their faces, but she and her husband recognized one of them when they saw surveillance footage.
She says that man had previously been in her apartment to paint a room and may have seen their valuables, prompting him to return and rob her. That man was also one of the woman's husband's employees at his barber shop.
The victim says the suspects got away with $15,000 in cash and about $7,000 worth of jewelry.
