Armed security guards are coming to schools in Burlington.
The Board of Education for Regional School District 10 voted unanimously Tuesday night on the measure.
The district says the guards will be retired police officers who were retrained and are licensed to carry firearms in a school.
The decision hopes to ease parents' concerns about sending their children to school in a safe environment.
Volunteer staff will also be trained on how to administer first aid.
