A sprinkler pipe that burst Wednesday at the
Hooker School in Bridgeport has forced officials to close the building for the remainder of the week.
The pipe burst Wednesday morning and forced officials to dismiss students around 11 a.m.
School officials say nine classrooms were damaged. The Department of Public Facilities found that a sprinkler line in the attic burst due to the cold weather. Cleanup crews have already begun working to get the building ready for school Monday.
Hooker School is a K-8 school.
