A Bronx mother says her son, who has autism, was forgotten on a bus on his way to school.
Steven Laureano, 30, requires constant supervision because he has the mind of a 2-year-old, according to his mother.
"He needs help in the bathroom, getting dressed," she says. "He needs help with everything."
So when Laureano's school called his mother Tuesday to inform her that he'd been left alone on a bus for nearly four hours, she says her heart dropped.
She says officials told her Laureano was left alone at 8:45 a.m. after eight other students got off for class at a special needs school on the Grand Concourse.
Because of the mix-up, the family says it will take Laureano out of the school.
For its part, the Special Citizens Future Unlimited School says it fired two employees involved in the incident.
