Chrysler announced Thursday that it is closing down 800 dealerships across the nation, including seven in Connecticut .
The closings come after the struggling economy forced the company into bankruptcy.
Dick Fitzpatrick, owner of Crest Dodge, learned that his company is going to have to make some tough decisions.
"There's no question it's sad," Fitzpatrick says. "Now fortunately, we have a Ford Motor Company and Jag operation and we'll be OK, but we're going to have to downsize and layoff some people and that's always tough."
Fitzpatrick plans to keep the Dodge service department open and is also making a sale to get rid of the Dodge vehicles by June 9.
