The Greenwich Conservation Commission says it is working on a solution for a growing problem involving dead fish at Binney Park.
The conservation commission says fish from the Long Island Sound are getting carried into the park's freshwater pond at high tide where they get trapped and die.
The commission says this has become a routine problem over the past couple of years and that visitors are complaining that they can't enjoy the park because of the dead fish.
"We want to make sure .. maybe the fish would be able to get, they'd go in and out with the tide instead of getting trapped behind the sill so we're exploring those options and seeing what we can do," says Greenwich Conservation director Denise Savage.
The commission says it has tried testing the water but now thinks taking out a dam may help. The commission says Greenwich Public Works is planning to dredge the pond to control the water levels.
