Connecticut athletes continue to make their mark at the Paris Olympics, with several securing spots in finals and even earning medals.
Brookfield's Kelsey Reelick helped the U.S. women's rowing team qualify for the women's fours Final A.The team finished first in their heat, setting them up for a chance at gold tomorrow.
In swimming, Greenwich's Gretchen Walsh secured a spot in the women's 100m freestyle semifinals after finishing third in her preliminary heat. Walsh, who recently set an Olympic record in the women's 100m butterfly, and now holds the three fastest times in the event historically, will compete in the semifinals next week.
Ridgefield's Kieran Smith added another Olympic medal to his collection, this time a silver. Smith was part of the Team USA men's 4x200m freestyle relay team that swam to a second-place finish behind Great Britain on Wednesday night.
