The Connecticut Education Association announced that it's recommending delaying the start of the school year due to increased research on the spread of COVID-19 in children.
Among its list of recommendations are delaying the start of school by two weeks until mid-September so that districts can use more time to improve remote learning plans, going remote if the district cannot maintain social distancing and upgrading HVAC systems.
The group is also recommending the state to give districts more funding for COVID-19 related expenses.
