Connecticut’s annual Veterans Day ceremony was held at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, where 11,000 flags were placed on gravesites to honor those who served.
Elected leaders, including the governor, addressed the crowd and thanked the men and women who fought for something bigger than themselves—freedom.
Veterans at the ceremony also received thank-you notes from local students. Officials say about 146,000 veterans currently live in Connecticut.
