Connecticut is on track to end the year with a fund surplus of just over $316 million, according to State Comptroller Sean Scanlon.
Scanlon says the surplus remains above the budgeted amount despite newly anticipated shortfalls in areas like housing, the Department of Corrections, and Mental Health and Addiction Services.
The state also expects a $12 million surplus in its Special Transportation Fund.
Scanlon adds his office will closely monitor the federal shutdown's impact on Connecticut's budget and overall economic health.
