Residents of the 3rd Congressional District are not holding out hope that Rep. Santos will get anything done for them.
This comes after the Nassau GOP called out the embattled congressman to resign after lying about everything from his education to his family history.
Roslyn resident Pax Vaswani says he doesn't believe Santos will bring back anything for his district because others on Capitol Hill will begin to distance themselves away from him.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has already said that Santos will not sit on any of the chamber's top committees.
Locally, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said he will not work with Santos or send constituents to Santos' office to help.
"How do I know if I send a constituent there that they're being told the truth?" Blakeman said. "We will probably try to resolve people's problems right here even if it's a federal problem because I don't want my office to have any contact with Rep. Santos or anyone in his staff."
A spokesperson for Rep. Anthony D'Esposito also said they have gotten requests for help from people in Santos' district.
Rep. Santos has made it clear that he has no intention to resign.
His district office is still closed and there is no set date for it to open.
The only way he could be removed from office would be a two-thirds vote from the House of Representatives.
