A construction company held an emergency meeting Tuesday with leaders after nooses were found at a Stamford worksite.Turner Construction met with local NAACP leaders and other officials, promising to immediately implement diversity training. Company management said they were unaware of the incidents until News 12 Connecticut contacted them.
The meeting comes after steelworker Taron Huckabee found two nooses hanging at the Royal Bank of Scotland site last week.
"I'm already up on heights," Huckabee said. "I don't want to be looking around for somebody to kick a ladder from under me and I'm going seven, eight floors down to the ground."
Turner Construction is now encouraging workers to report all harassment.
