The Family Reentry Recovery Community Center in Bridgeport held its second annual "Cookies with Santa Celebration."

Organizers said it's a great way for kids who're impacted by addiction and incarceration to have a memorable day with Santa Claus and with each other.

"We're giving back to children, we're giving back to the community and it's the most important thing for me because I'm a part of this community," said Luz Serrano, of the Family Reentry Recovery Community Center.

"It blows my mind and it really gives me an awesome sense of purpose, and when I sleep at night, I sleep having the best of thoughts because I know tomorrow's going to be a brighter day," said the center's Mark Grasso.

Organizers said community partnerships and the love and kindness of countless volunteers made the event possible.
